Job Description

Coordinates and delivers training programs for Security Officers and other employees. Acts to ensure compliance with legally mandated, contractual, and company mandated training requirements. Distinguishing Characteristics: Primary job function is training security personnel.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to the following:

  1. Provide training/coordination of the client’s ad hoc Emergency Response Teams and staff. Input all training into Client’s Learning Management System (LMS). 
  • Building Evacuation Teams
  • Building Captains
  • C.E.R.T. (Certified Emergency Response Team)
  • A.C.E.R.T. (Advanced Certified Emergency Response Team)
  • Fire Safety and Extinguisher Training (C.E.R.T./Facilities/Security/R&D Staff)
  • Fire-Watch Training (Security Officers)
  • Emergency Response Training/Drills (Security personnel)
  • Receptionist Training related to emergencies (Security Receptionists)
  • B.E.E.T. Training (Post Incident Structural Damage Assessment)
  • Aid in developing Disaster Exercises/Tabletop Drills
  • Ongoing training to maintain skills/competencies for all teams
  • Participate in All-Staff education sessions
  1. Maintain site Emergency Operations Center in constant state of readiness
  • Updating incident management tools, maps, drawings, and other documents
  • Ensuring technology-based emergency management assets are functional
  • Cleanliness of all supplies and equipment
  1. Emergency and Disaster supplies maintenance
  • Inventory
  • Cleanliness of all supplies and equipment
  • Ensuring sufficient supplies are on hand
  • Ensuring all team members have current, sufficient supplies, and equipment
  • Recommending purchase of needed supplies
  • Restocking supplies as needed
  1. Preventative Maintenance
  • Maintaining a preventative program of all assets and documenting same
  • Coordinate repair, maintenance, and inventory of all communications equipment
  • Coordinate with site facilities team to ensure maintenance of all equipment to their function is completed on a regular basis and all repairs are completed in a timely fashion
  1. Maintain site radio communications infrastructure to FCC code requirements
  • Work with vendor to maintain radio infrastructure
  • Trouble shoot radio equipment as needed
  • Order supplies as needed for radio infrastructure
  • Train and coordinate Disaster Communications Team
  • Participate in monthly Countywide Operational Tests (ORT) with County EOCs and their Agency Reps
  • Maintain ATO Emergency Communications plans
  • Collaborate with other client sites to aid in standardization of the communications plan

Emergency Response:

  • Respond to site emergencies (Fire alarms, medical emergencies, Hazmat, and security incidents)
  • Respond to odor investigations (Smoke/unusual odors)
  • Respond to elevator entrapments
  • Aid in post incident investigations
  • Respond to disaster incidents

Other responsibilities:

  • Aid in development of Incident Action Plans (IAPs)
  • Assist with planning/coordination of special events
  • Assist site Security Management as needed
  • Perform all other tasks as assigned

Education/ Required Experience: EMT CA, Associate degree, and 1 year of responsible experience in the security industry and/or business management, or an equivalent combination of education and experience sufficient to perform the essential functions of the job, as determined by the company. Additional relevant experience can be substituted for the required education based on one calendar year of experience for one academic year of education.

Preferred experience/Training:

  • First Aid certification (American Red Cross or AHA)
  • CPR/AED certification (American Red Cross or AHA)
  • Hazardous Materials Technician *
  • Incident Command System (ICS-100, ICS-300, NIMS, SEMS)
  • C.E.R.T. (Community Emergency Response Team/FEMA) *

NOTE: * Indicates training may be available as OJT

Physical Requirements

  • Must be able to stand, squat, crawl and sit for extended periods of time
  • Lifting/Moving/Supporting heavy loads (patients, equipment, supplies)
